With Rahul Dravid and his support staff leaving, it is now time for a new ear to set upon. As the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team continues to be finalised, the batting, bowling and fielding coaches will also be appointed. The BCCI is set to open applications for the above posts.
However, it is also believed that new head coach will have the free reign to choose his own staff. It is also believed that if Gautam Gambhir takes the role, then he might even not take a batting coach.
BCCI to open applications for Support Staff
Bidding goodbye to the Team India along with Rahul Dravid was Vikram Rathour, Paras Mhambrey and T Dilip. The trio have been excellent in preparing India as the world dominators. But now with their contracts expiring after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, it is time for the others.
As soon as the appointment of the head coach is done, the selection process for the support staff with also begin. For the head coach position, Gambhir and WV Raman were interview. The former is expected to be in pole position to take the job. The new head coach will be with the team for the India vs Bangladesh series. Currently, VVS Laxman is serving as the interim head coach for the IND vs ZIM series.
