Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, who recently led his team to T20 World Cup glory by defeating South Africa by 7 runs in the finals at Barbados, is still ruling social media. From edits to memories of Barbados, people are still visiting those moments. Even Sharma himself seems unable to get over that win.
The star cricketer is posting those moments via social media, even though a week have already passed. In the process, the Hitman recently changed his X profile picture, putting his iconic photo of planting the Indian flag on the Barbados ground. But in doing this, he lost the blue verification badge, or could say the blue tick. But why? Here is the answer.
Why Rohit Sharma lost his blue tick on Twitter
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has lost his verification badge on Twitter (now X) due to a small clause that X imposes. X verification requirements says that subscribers who have a blue tick will be able to change their handle, display name, or profile photo, but if they do, they’ll temporarily lose the blue tick until their account has been reviewed and meets X requirements.
