The Indian cricket team, which received a grand reception in Mumbai after winning the T20 World Cup held in the USA and West Indies, is now reportedly set to receive Rs 11 crore from the Maharashtra government. This amount will be distributed among all Maharashtra players and support staff who were part of the T20 World Cup-winning team.
This includes India skipper Rohit Sharma, who recently announced his retirement from T20Is, and Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, each of whom will receive 2.5 crores. also, Team India support staff, including Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, will receive Rs. 75 lakh, and masseur Arun Kanade will get Rs. 25 lakh.

Just after an unforgettable victory parade at Marine Drive, Mumbai, celebrating their T20 World Cup win, all four players also received an invitation from Mumbai CM Eknath Sindhe to Vidhan Bhavan. It is interesting to note that all the public at Vidhan Bhavan wore festive outfits, as if celebrating a big festival.
Sharma, Yadav, Dube, and Jaiswal all received standing ovations at the Central Hall in Vidhan Bhavan amidst slogans like ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ki Jai’, ‘Rohit Sharmacha Vijay Aso’, and ‘Bharatiya Cricket Sanghacha Vijay Aso’ resounding loudly.
Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav both spoke in Marathi, Sharma said, ‘The 11-year wait to win the World Cup was finally over. There were solid players in the team. We played to win the World Cup. It was won not just because of me but due to all the team players’.
