Indian Shooting at Paris Olympics 2024: Venue, Events, Squad, and Schedule

Shooting is one of the very few sports to be featured in every Summer Olympics except for 1904 and 1928.

India’s 21-strong shooting team is ready to compete in the upcoming Paris Olympics. A total of 8 shooters in rifle, 7 shooters in pistol, and 6 shooters in shotgun events are participating in the Paris Games.

4 shooters to make their second Olympic appearance

Manu Bhaker, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Anjum Moudgil, and Elavenil Valarivan will be making their second appearance in the Olympic Games. While the remaining 11 rifle and pistol shooters will be making their debuts in the Summer Games.

Unsatisfactory performance at the Tokyo Olympics

The 15-member squad at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 failed to win any medal in Japan. Apart from Saurabh Chaudhary, none of the shooters made it to the finals.

Venue for Shooting in the Paris Olympics

The Chateauroux Shooting Centre will host 340 shooters at the Paris 2024 games. The French Shooting Federation integrated the centre in 2018. The centre announced a new “finals” building in 2022, so now it can also host international pistol and rifle finals. This building will host all indoor shooting finals during the Paris 2024 Games.
