Gambhir to become IND coach from SL series?

The new India head coach will be announced soon to lead the team in the Sri Lanka series. Gautam Gambhir and WV Raman are frontrunners, having impressed the selection committee. An official announcement on the coach and a new selector is expected shortly. VVS Laxman will coach the Zimbabwe tour starting July 6th, while the permanent coach takes over for Sri Lanka.

Dinesh Karthik back with RCB!

Dinesh Karthik, following his retirement from the IPL after a successful 2024 season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has transitioned into a coaching role. The veteran wicket-keeper, who holds the second-highest number of IPL appearances (257), will now share his experience and cricketing knowledge as RCB’s new batting coach and mentor. This appointment brings an end to Karthik’s remarkable playing career in the IPL, where he was a part of several franchises. He’ll now aim to contribute to RCB’s long-held dream of clinching their first IPL trophy from the sidelines of the dugout.

This outpouring of praise reflects acknowledgement of Rohit’s leadership, as he is now only the third Indian captain, after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni, to win a World Cup title for India.

France pip Belgium, Portugal beat Slovenia in Penalties!

France and Belgium produced a rather disaster class. The clash of Titans didn’t carry out the hype which it generated. A late own goal by Jan Vertonghen saw the Les Blues advancing to the quarters of Euro 2024. Portugal vs Slovenia was undecided after 90 minutes. Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score a penalty in extra time as the game headed into penalties. Diogo Costa proved to be the hero by putting out three consecutive saves to help his side advance to the next stage.
