PR Sreejesh’s wife expects ‘nothing but gold’ at Paris Olympics 2024 from Indian hockey team

With PR Sreejesh taking the duties between the sticks, the Indian men's hockey team will start its campaign at the Paris 2024 Olympics on July 27 against New Zealand.

PR Sreejesh’s family is buzzing with excitement as the Indian hockey team prepares for the Paris Olympics, just less than four weeks away. This will be Sreejesh’s fourth Olympic appearance, a feat that will tie him with the legendary Dhanraj Pillay for most Olympics played by an Indian hockey player.

In a recent interview with Hockey Te Charcha, Sreejesh’s wife Dr. Aneeshya Sreejesh spoke about their long journey together. They were classmates and athletes who have known each other for 22 years. Aneeshya has witnessed Sreejesh’s struggles and triumphs firsthand. She expressed immense pride in his achievements and her expectations for the upcoming Olympics are clear, “We are all really excited for the Paris Olympics, which will be his fourth one. This is truly special and we all expect nothing less than a Gold.”

Hockey Team to go one step further from Tokyo Olympics?

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics hold a special place in the Sreejesh household. The Indian Men’s Hockey Team’s bronze medal win against Germany brought immense joy to the nation and the Sreejesh family. Aneeshya described the emotions as a mix of happiness, pride, and relief. “It was a great moment filled with happiness, pride and relief. I don’t really know what the exact emotion was but it was certainly a very special moment. Professionally, that was the most precious and valuable moment in our life,” she said.

With Sreejesh’s dedication and his family’s unwavering support, the entire nation will be cheering for him and the Indian Hockey Team as they strive for gold in Paris.
