The speedster provided the perfect start for India, castling opener Reeza Hendricks in his very first over. While it looked like India were losing control in the match, Bumrah did what he was best at in the death overs.
Such was Bumrah’s brilliance that the win probability for South Africa, which was 96.24% right before his third over in the 16th over., crashed just after those six balls and so did South Africa’s World Cup dreams. Bumrah finished with figures of 2/18 from his four overs at an economy rate of 4.50.
