Not all dreams come true: Fan outrage continues as Shivam Dube pips Sanju Samson in T20 World Cup Final

T20 World Cup: Sanju Samson hasn't appeared in a single T20 World Cup 2024 game. He only played India's warmup match against Bangladesh

Not all dreams come true! And that has been the case for Sanju Samson. A non performing Shivam Dube has continued to start ahead of Samson throughout the tournament. And in the all important final, that has been the case. After putting up a good show in IPL 2024, Samson was benched throughout the tournament.

And this means, that Sanju Samson’s dream of ever playing a World Cup match for the India Cricket Team remains a distant reality. Samson was a traveling reserve in Asia Cup 2023 and returned home when KL Rahul joined the side. He was snubbed for the ODI World Cup squad.

But despite being a member of 15-players in the T20 World Cup, Samson wasn’t featured in a solitary match for the Men in Blue. Samson played India’s only warm-up match against Bangladesh. The Rajasthan Royals skipper opened alongside Rohit Sharma but failed to score big runs. Samson could however only manage 1 run from 6 deliveries.

Shivam Dube pips Samson again!

Yet again Shivam Dube continues to be in favor ahead of Samson. The Chennai Super Kings southpaw has been performing well but has started all games for the Men in Blue. There were initial discussion about the potential inclusion of Sanju Samson for the finals.

But unfortunately, that didn’t happen as Team India retained their Playing XI. And this wasn’t taken easily by the fans as they continued their outrage on social media.
