Recently, Afghanistan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi had a telephonic conversation with the Afghanistan team and congratulated them for the success they have achieved in the ongoing mega event.

“The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Mr. Amir Khan Muttaqi, congratulated Rashid Khan, the captain of the Afghan team, on reaching the semi-finals of the World Cup and wished the team continued success,” the Afghanistan Cricket Board recently posted on their social media, along with details of the telephonic conversation between the leader and the skipper Rashid Khan.

By clinching a historic win, Afghanistan knocked down Bangladesh in a nail-biting match, which was the last Super 8 game of the T20 World Cup. Although Afghanistan’s batters were disappointed and didn’t live up to their reputation, made only 115/5. It was Skipper Rashid Khan and Naveen-ul-Haq who took four wickets each, pushing the win into Afghanistan’s bag and restricting them to just 105 runs.
Now, Afghanistan sets its eyes on a high-stakes clash against South Africa scheduled for 6 AM IST on June 27. Can Rashid and co script history? It will be interesting to see.
