Women’s Asia Cup schedule out, India to start T20 World Cup preparation vs Pakistan on July 19

India have made the final of the Women's Asia Cup in all 8 editions and have a 7-1 record.

The India women’s cricket team will begin their hunt for an 8th Asia Cup title on July 19. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side, who are currently playing South Africa at home, will kick off their campaign against Pakistan in Sri Lanka. Apart from their arch-rivals, Women in Blue will face Nepal and UAE in Group A of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024.

The other group, meanwhile, has Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, and hosts Sri Lanka. All the matches will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla, with the semifinals being played on July 26 and the final on July 28.

With a 43-3 record at the event, India will be the heavy favorites to lift yet another Asia Cup title. The Women in Blue are yet to name their squad but not much is likely to change after the T20I series against South Africa comes to an end.

Sri Lanka by far will the biggest challenge for Harmanpreet Kaur and co. as the highest ranked team after them. Playing in a multi-team tournament will help India begin their preparations for the Women’s T20 World Cup that starts in October.
