Lawrence dethroned G.S. Sobers, who had scored 36 runs against M.A. Nash’s bowling in 1968. Sobers had hit six sixes in that over to make history.
Interestingly, Ravi Shastri also scored the maximum of 36 runs in an over by hitting sixes on every ball. The bowler he punished was Tilak Raj.
