India on Saturday all but secured their spot in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup with a convincing 50-run victory over Bangladesh at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. The Indian batters looked hungry for runs as almost all got out trying to hit big shots. The intent the Indian batter showed left skipper Rohit Sharma impressed after the match.
India blow Bangladesh away
Rohit Sharma, who is having a quiet T20 World Cup by his standard, scored an 11-ball 23. He got out trying to hit a six.
“I have been talking about this for a long time now. It’s about going there and putting that to work. Considering everything we played really well, and adapted to the conditions. There’s a little bit of wind factor here, overall we are very smart, overall we were good with bat and ball,” Sharma said after the match.

Batters’ intent impresses Rohit Sharma
The dominance was such that the first five Indian batters had a strike rate of over 130. Sharma also hailed the team for their ability to look over milestones.
“All eight batters need to play their role, whatever it is. We saw one guy get 50 and we got 196, in T20 I don’t believe we need to get fifties and hundreds, what matters is the pressure you put on the bowlers. All the batters from the word go played like that and that’s how we want to play as well,” Rohit said.
