‘Wives, movies, food’: Ex-Pakistan star calls out toxic team culture after T20 World Cup exit

A former Pakistan cricketer tore into the culture of the team and the lack of discipline following the team's exit from T20 World Cup

Former wicketkeeper Ati-uz-Zaman slammed the Pakistan cricket team and their culture after the side’s embarrassing exit from the T20 World Cup. The ex-PAK star claimed that not one member of the team had any idea about discipline. Pakistan were knocked out of the marquee tournament in the Group stage after managing to win only two games.

‘No idea about discipline’

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Atiq rants about allowing the families of players to travel with the team for the T20 WC. He claims that the players were distracted by their family members as they lose focus on the game. The former cricketer also questioned the necessity for the players to take their wives along wherever they went, adding that the the culture in the team was as such that there was zero knowledge on discipline.

PAK managed to finally get a win against Canada but it came too late in the tournament. Despite winning their last game against IRE by three wickets, Pakistan were forced to exit the tournament as India and the USA qualified for the Super 8 from Group A.
