Germany vs Hungary: Jamal Musiala, Ilkay Gundogan see off Hungary with twin strikes in UEFA Euro 2024

Jamal Musiala continues his rich vein of form in UEFA Euro 2024. The young 21-year-old forward once again scored for his country as hosts Germany secured a 2-0 win over Hungary. It was the youngster who opened the account while skipper Ilkay Gundogan’s second half strike meant, Germany have more or less qualified for the Round of 16.

Young Gun shines again!

Jamal Musiala was tipped as one of the players to watch in Euro 2024. And he continues to live up his hype. The youngster became the only player in the tournament so far to score two goals. Against Scotland he opened his account and today against Hungary to has doubled his tally to be on first position of the top scorers list.

Jamal Musiala opened this country’s first goal in the 22nd minute of the game. It was a bit of a scrappy goal, but a goal none the less. Musiala laid of a perfect pass to skipper Ilkay Gundogan who fumbled inside the box. While the Hungary defenders tried their best to clear the ball, it was Musiala who pounced on the chance to put the ball into the back of the net.

Ilkay Gundogan leads by example!

The German skipper showcased his brilliance against Hungary. Form the very first minute of the game, the Barcelona midfielder was determined to get on the scoresheet. The ace midfield maestro was involved in almost every move of the game. He came close to scoring in multiple occasions only to be obstructed by the Hungarian defense.

Past the hour mark of play, Germany continued to launch multiple attacks. In the 67th minute, ace midfielder Toni Kroos, laid off a beautiful pass to Maximilian Mittelstadt. The left back, then laid off a perfect play for Gundogan to hit the back of the net from close quarters.

Germany came close again to extend their lead, but the resilient Hungarian side stayed compact and didn’t leak any more goals.
