Legendary West Indies pacer Sir Wesley Hall presented India cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma, star Virat Kohli and coach Rahul Dravid with copies of his autobiography ahead of the IND vs AFG clash. Legend meets Legend: Sir Wesley meets Virat Kohli

Sir Wesley, like most others, was mighty impressed with Kohli and even asked him to continue scoring more centuries while remarking that he was right up there among the greats of the game.

I just told him that he’s the best batsman in the world. I can’t say any more than that. If anybody told me I’m the best boy in the world, I’d say, thank you,” Sir Wesley said, as per Cricbuzz.

Hall hails evolution of India’s pace attack

The former West Indies pacer pointed out that while the Men in Maroon (during the 1980s) had 21 fast bowlers, India had only one genuine pacer in the name of Kapil Dev. However, Hall notes that the current Indian bowling line-up, spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, is top-class.

“The point is, I’d rather get you out than hit you. You know what I mean? I think Indian fast bowling is top class. It doesn’t really matter who gets the first wicket or the second one, but you know that they’re good enough to deal with it. And that’s the way you should look at it. You want your bowlers to be [like that]. Look at your fast bowlers. When I played, you had one fast bowler. I mean, one genuinely fast bowler. That was Kapil Dev. And a lot of spinners, a lot of great spinners. But things have changed. I think they’ve [fast bowlers] have done very well for India,” he added.
