Pakistan cricket team players are home bound after their early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024. As per Cricket Pakistan, six players including skipper Babar Azam will be heading to London, UK to spend time with their family. Rest of the players are expected to arrive in Pakistan via Dubai on June 19.
Babar Azam & co head to London after T20 WC failure
As per the report, Babar Azam, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan will not travel with the team to Pakistan. Head coach Gary Kirsten and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood will head back to their homes as Pakistan have no series scheduled in the near future. The Men in Green will next host Bangladesh for a Test series in August following which the England team will tour Pakistan in October.

Following Pakistan’s exit from the T20 WC, speculations are rife about the future of the team, skipper Babar Azam, the management and the Pakistan Cricket Board. Some reports suggest that the board is likely to dissolve the selection committee. Skipper Babar Azam has also hinted about the changes that are expected as he mentioned that the call on captaincy would be taken by the PCB in the future.
Pakistan’s T20 World Cup dream ends
Pakistan started off their T20 World Cup campaign on an awful note, suffering a shock defeat at the hands of the USA in their very first game. To make matters worse, Babar Azam and co. let victory slip out of their hands in the game against arch-rivals India.
PAK managed to finally get a win against Canada but it came too late in the tournament. Their last game against IRE was called off due to rain, thus bringing an end to their T20 WC campaign.
