India cricket team is gearing up for the Caribbean leg of the T20 World Cup as they head into the Super 8 stage. While form isn’t a concern for Rohit Sharma and co., rain certainly is one, given that it can impact their chances of making it to the semi-finals. There is forecast for rain in all of India’s three matches in the Super 8 stage in the Caribbean islands.
How rain can be a hurdle for India in journey to semis
India will lock horns with Afghanistan in their first Super 8 game at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 20. As per UK Met Department and Weather Channel, there are 10% chances of rain on that very day. However, the rain is not expected to play spoilsport in the match as one can expect a truncated game instead of the game being called off.
Rohit Sharma and co’s next fixture is against Bangladesh on June 22 in Antigua. Again, there is a 20% chance of rains, as per the forecast.
The most important game for India in the Super 8 – against Australia – faces the toughest challenge with 50% chance of rain predicted for the contest in St. Lucia on June 24. The IND vs AUS clash being abandoned could complicate the situation in terms of semi-final qualification for sides in Group 1.
