Namibia’s talismanic all-rounder David Wiese has announced his retirement from international cricket following his team’s final T20 World Cup 2024 group stage match against England.

Fitting farewell on T20 World Cup

David Wiese’s international career came to a close in a rain-affected encounter against England. He played a crucial role in Namibia’s chase of a revised target of 126 runs in 10 overs, scoring a quickfire 27 off 12 deliveries before departing in the final over.

He received a guard of honour from his teammates upon his dismissal, a testament to his contribution to Namibian cricket.

His standout performance in the 2024 World Cup included a three-wicket haul against Oman and a crucial all-round display in a Super Over victory.
