Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour on Saturday allied concerns over Virat Kohli’s poor run of form in the T20 World Cup 2024. Kohli has been underwhelming in the tournament so far, scoring 1, 4 and 0 in his three innings in the tournament. However, Rathour said Kohli is batting as good as ever in the nets and hinted that it is a matter of time before he returns to form.
Virat Kohli batting superbly: Rathour
“I love it when every time I come there is a question about Virat Kohli, whether he is doing well or not. No concern at all, no concern at all,” Rathour told reporters on Saturday.
“He (Kohli) has been batting superbly from the tournament that he came from (IPL). Couple of dismissals here, doesn’t change anything, he is batting really well,” he added.
‘Kohli really keen to do well’
Rathour said Virat Kohli’s lack of runs might be a blessing in disguise as the Indian batter would now be more hungry to prove his worth.
“Actually, it’s good that he is a little hungrier, he is really keen to do well and really switched on. It’s a good space to be as a batsman, I think. Looking forward to some good games and we’ve watched some good innings from him,” he said.

IPL Orange Cap holder struggling in T20 WC
Kohli was coming on the back of an excellent IPL season where he won the Orange Cap by scoring over 700 runs. It was expected that he would hit the ground running in the T20 World Cup, but that has not been the case.
The slow New York pitches haven’t helped Kohli either, with the batter getting out softly on numerous occasions.
