Former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell passed away at the age of 54. The news comes after he was hospitalized last month. The cause of death is reported to be a short illness.
His passing was confirmed on Saturday (June 15)with former club Arsenal saying in a statement: “We are devastated to learn that our former striker Kevin Campbell has died after a short illness. Kevin was adored by everyone at the club. All of us are thinking of his friends and family at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Kevin.”

Campbell was a well-respected figure in the football world, playing for over two decades and making a total of 543 appearances. He scored 148 goals and assisted 39 times throughout his career. Starting his career at Arsenal, Campbell quickly impressed during his time at the academy. He won the FA Youth Cup with the Gunners in 1988 and made his first-team debut that same year.
During his time with Arsenal, Campbell won five major honors. This included a First Division title win and a Cup Winners’ Cup triumph. He moved to Nottingham Forest after his time with Arsenal. Campbell’s last season as a player came at 2006/07.
