Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, who gifted India their first track and field gold in the Olympics. Has recently opened up about his golden patch on the show “Get Set Gold,” hosted by former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik on JioCinema. He reflected on his past performances, and surprisingly, he said that he is not satisfied with his impressive stats.

Although Chopra shared that his throw at the World Under-20 Championships in 2016 remains the only one of which he is truly proud. Speaking to Karthik, he said, ‘To date, I am only satisfied with one throw of mine, which was 86.48 m in the World Under-20 Championships 2016. That was one throw where I felt it was special, unique, but I have not been satisfied with any throw since. I feel I haven’t reached my peak yet; I have won gold and many competitions, but I still believe I have not reached my best, and I am not satisfied with my throw yet’.

Speaking about Neeraj Chopra’s career, whether Chopra is satisfied or not with his performances, he is truly India’s blue-eyed boy. Apart from clinching gold in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He did wonders in the World Athletics Championships by securing a silver medal.

Also, in the Asian Games, he cleared up the gold medals twice: first in 2018 in Jakarta and then in Hangzhou in 2022. Also, not to forget, in the Doha Diamond League in 2024, he notched an 88.67-meter throw to win the tournament.
