South Africa survived what was yet another low-scoring nightmare at the Nassau County International Cricket stadium to defeat Bangladesh in a nail-biting game. Shanto and co. looked like they had the game in their pocket in the first innings after managing to rattle the African batters. However, South Africa staged a remarkable comeback, putting up a stellar show with the ball to successfully defend the low total. With this win, the Proteas become the first side to qualify for the Super 8 stage.

At one point, the match looked quite winnable for Bangladesh. However, the Proteas bowlers managed to keep it tight till the very end, managing to pick up a four run win. Keshav Maharaj bagged three scalps while Rabada and Nortje scalped two wickets each.
