Right after the IND vs PAK match in New York at the Nassau County stadium on Sunday, where Babar Azam & co. lost, the accusation and counter-accusations have started in Pakistani cricketing fraternity. This time former PAK skipper Saleem Malik has accused all-rounder Imad Wasim of deliberately throwing the match away.
Saleem Malik Suspects Foul Play by Imad Wasim
Chasing only 120, Pakistan cricket team lost the match by six runs, where they played out 59 dots in the entire innings. Imad Wasim scored 15 from 23. “You look at his (Wasim) innings and it appears as if he was wasting balls not scoring runs and making things difficult in the run-chase,” Saleem Malik said on 24 News channel.
On the other hand, Shoaib Akhtar was critical as well. “I think I should have a template text. Disappointed & hurt automatically set to be posted. The whole nation is down and out. Morale is down. Somehow you have to show intent to win. Do Pakistan deserve to be out of Super Eight? God knows,” Akhtar said in a video message on ‘X’, formerly twitter.

Pakistan Qualification Scenario After IND vs PAK
Pakistan need to win their remaining two matches, after losing vs IND and USA. Also, USA, who is on 4 points, need to lose to Ireland and India both, or else they’ll finish with six points. That means automatic ouster for Pakistan. They also need to pray that Ireland beat USA and then they win their matches by huge margins vs Canada and Ireland. So, all in all, it is a tough ask.
