Kiwi great Craig McMillan appointed assistant coach of New Zealand Women’s team for two years

During his five-year stint as New Zealand's batting coach from 2014 to 2019, McMillan collaborated with top Kiwi batters like Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor.

Former New Zealand batter Craig McMillan was appointed the New Zealand women’s team’s assistant coach for a period of two years. With the forthcoming tour of England later this month, McMillan, who participated in 260 international matches between 1997 and 2007, will collaborate with head coach Ben Sawyer.

McMillan excited to be back in international circuit

I’m rapt with the appointment and to be back involved in coaching international cricket again,” McMillan said after his appointment. 

It’ll be great to be part of the White Ferns family as we head into a busy nine-month schedule with some exciting challenges ahead.

Craig McMillan’s previous heroics

During his five-year stint as New Zealand’s batting coach from 2014 to 2019, McMillan collaborated with top Kiwi batters like Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor, playing a significant role in the BlackCaps’ success. This included their consecutive final appearances in the 2015 and 2019 ICC Cricket World Cups.
