PAK vs USA: ‘Hurt & Disappointed’ Shoaib Akhtar says, ‘Pakistan never deserved to win..’

PAK vs USA: The T20 World Cup match on Thursday saw Babar Azam & Co. lose the match to unheralded Team USA in super over.

The Pakistan cricket team, the fans and the ex-cricketers are all in shock as USA beat the Asian giants in the T20 World Cup match on Thursday, in Dallas. The Babar Azam-led side performed poorly and they eventually lost in the super over to the hosts. While no one reason is clear for the loss, former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has offered his reaction on the PAK vs USA debacle. He also went to compare the loss to Pakistan’s 1999 World Cup loss to Bangladesh.

“It was a disappointing loss for Pakistan. We are not off to a good start, losing to USA,” Akhtar said in a video posted on his social media account. “Unfortunately, Pakistan never deserved to win because the USA played really well. They were always in the commanding position. (Mohammad) Amir saved the match. Shaheen (Afridi) and Amir tried, but USA were winning over Pakistan for 37 overs. And unfortunately, we couldn’t pull it off.”
