MS Dhoni is inarguably the most famous cricketer in the world. But the legend is revered like a god in India. That level of fame often gets into your head; everywhere you go, people swarm just to get a glimpse. But, for Dhoni, that’s not the case. His former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammate, Matthew Hayden, revealed that Thala has no ego and is one of the most humble people you can come across.
Team first for MS Dhoni
While talking with Sports Vikatan, the Australia opener talked about how Dhoni would pick up the team bags and give throwdowns to teammates despite being the CSK captain. He said:
“He believes that he is not bigger than anyone else. He’ll collect bags, he’ll throw cricket balls. He’s just a very humble individual. And he works hard at the team and not on promoting MS Dhoni.”

He further went on to say that Dhoni never makes things about himself. He doesn’t go about talking himself up and bragging about his achievement; instead, he works on making the team the main talking point.
“You’ll never hear him telling people how great he is or what he’s achieved. That is MS Dhoni’s X-factor. You look at Australia and go ’25 million people. How did they win the World Cup against us?’ MS Dhoni… he just finds a way to galvanize people together and does it in a way that is nothing about ego, not about self-promotion.”
