Fans of Australia were relieved when captain Mitchell Marsh revealed that Mitchell Starc was experiencing cramps after leaving the field during Thursday’s T20 World Cup victory over Oman on June 6.
Mitchell Marsh allays fears on Mitchell Starc
Speaking following the victory, Marsh stated they opted to let Starc sit out the remainder of the match because they didn’t want to take a chance with him. The Australian captain stated that they would allow Starc to go off when he expressed the desire to do so.
“Starcy was just a cramp so didn’t want to take a chance. When Starcy says I am okay to go off you let him go off,” said Marsh.

With a wicket in his opening over and figures of 2 for 20, Starc had got off to a perfect start in his T20 World Cup campaign. Towards the end of the Oman innings, though, the left-arm pacer departed the field.
Starc bowled the opening ball of the 15th over, which went for a wide and started to limp right away. Maxwell was given the ball to complete the over after the pacer, who had been seen stretching a little, decided to leave the field.
