69 days to go but BCCI & ICC still ‘figuring out’ World Cup 2023 Tickets

Apart from Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), no venues have revealed prices yet for ODI World Cup 2023.

The clock is ticking with only 69 days until the World Cup 2023. But World Cup 2023 Tickets are still not even finalised. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah met with state associations. But there was no specific timeline on the tickets given. To make things worse, physical tickets could return despite chaos in IPL 2023. BCCI has asked the state associations on their plans ticket sales.

All the stakeholders must come on board with ticket pricing before the board shares it with the ICC. Not all ticket prices will be same. It will vary match to match as well as venue to venue.

IND vs PAK date to change

Jay Shah also announced that there was no decision on the schedule change. The mouth-watering IND vs PAK clash will be played on a different date while World Cup schedule may also see some other changes. The Indian Express reported that the security agencies had advised against holding a high-profile match like India vs Pakistan because the crowds would be stretched thin due to Navratri. Thousands of traveling fans are expected to arrive in Ahmedabad for the game.

Apart from the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), no other World Cup venues have revealed prices. While BCCI was upset with CAB for announcing prices, it has promised it is working with ICC to accelerate the ticket process.

World Cup 2023: BCCI & ICC working closely to speed up the ticketing process

Earlier, InsideSport had reported that the BCCI is working closely to have a seamless experience for fans. BCCI does not want a stampede-like situation in any of the WC venues and is making sure to get the ticketing process sorted.

There are still a few things to work out. We are modernizing the ticketing system. That is why it is taking a little longer. There will be a lot of digitization so that fans can have a seamless experience. Hopefully, everything will work out by next week. You should understand that it’s an ICC event through the local organizing committee and state associations. So, it’s a complicated process,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
