HS Prannoy drops out of Top-10 before Paris Olympics 2024, reflects poor form

HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, and PV Sindhu have all qualified for Paris 2024, but are out of top-10 rankings, which shows their mediocre form.

India’s one of the best singles shuttler at the moment, HS Prannoy has moved out of the top-10 rankings, just before the Paris Olympics 2024. After a string of poor results this year, Prannoy has slipped to WR-13 in the latest BWF rankings. In his last tournament, the Kerala shuttler was ousted in the quarters of the Australian Open, where he lost to Kodai Naraoka of Japan.

HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen & PV Sindhu Struggle

So, this now means that there’s no singles shuttler, men’s or women’s, in the top-10 rankings, from India. This is poor considering, this is Olympics 2024 year. In the 10 tournaments in 2024, he has only reached the semis once, that too at the India Open in January. On the other hand, another Paris Olympics 2024-bound shuttler, Lakshya Sen remains out of top-10. He is just a spot below Prannoy, and is ranked 14th in the world.
