Will Pucovski forced to retire after 13th concussion? Cricket Australia likely to step in

Australia and Victoria batter Will Pucovski has been off the field after suffering his latest concussion in a game in February

It looks like it is the end of the road for Victoria batter Will Pucovski, given his history with concussion and mental health issues. The Australian suffered his 13th concussion earlier this year while playing in a Shield game and has been off the field since then. As per Yahoo Sport, Pucovski’s return to the sport is highly unlikely, with officials believing that the batter will eventually retire.

No more cricket for Will Pucovski?

As per Code Sports, Victorian cricket players and officials are “increasingly resigned” to the idea that he will never play the sport again. Cricket Victoria performance chief Graham Manou revealed that the “expert panel has met” and is “currently working through the findings”. However, the report claimed that Victorian players were not expecting Pucovski to return to the field ever again.

Further, the report claimed that Cricket Australia is likely to step in to prevent Pucovski from playing in the future.
