Virat Kohli showcased his prowess in the RCB vs PBKS clash. After being dropped for a duck, King Kohli continued to punish Punjab Kings. He gladly accepted Jonny Bairstow’s dropped catch to slam 4 boundaries in his first over. Kohli maintained his sublime form to hit some glorious boundaries to race towards his fifty.
Kohli couldn’t score big runs in the opening game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But with ICC T20 World Cup approaching, Kohli took it on himself to score runs in a flurry. It took him just 30 balls to race to his fifty. It was his 51st half century in IPL for King Kohli.
“Sometimes we speak too much about Virat Kohli. Playing at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, I think that he is going to go hard in the powerplay and that strike rate will go up. I don’t think that the T20 World Cup selection will play in his mind. Winning games for RCB will be more important to him,” Wasim Jaffer said while speaking on ESPNcricinfo.
