Rohit Sharma & Co begin 42-day break before busy India Cricket Schedule

India Cricket Team get long break of 42 days to prepare for gruesome and busy cricket schedule ahead of ICC Champions Trophy

The IND vs SL ODI series is now done and dusted. Up next the India Cricket Team has a long 42 day break before the busy schedule kick starts. This more than a month period will give Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir a perfect opportunity to reflect on the shortcomings of this series and prepare for what is about to come.

Ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, India just has 3 ODI matches left. But most importantly, following the Sri Lanka series, the Men in Blue are gearing up for a tough schedule with plethora of T20I and Test matches. India will take on Bangladesh for 2 Test matches and 3 T20I matches after 42 days.

India gears up for Busy Cricketing schedule

  • 1. India vs Bangladesh (2 Tests, 3 T20I)
    2. India vs New Zealand (3 Tests)
    3. India vs South Africa (4 T20I)
    4. India vs Australia (4 Tests)
    5. India vs England (5 T20I, 3 ODI)

While the primary focus stays on the ICC Champions Trophy, it is also worth noting that India also has their eyes on the World Test Championship (WTC) Standings. India’s next match will be on 19th September against Bangladesh in a Test match at Chepauk.

After the Bangladesh series, India will face the Kiwis for a 3-match Test series. The busy season further continues as India will then travel to South Africa. Against the Proteas, India will play 4 T20I matches.

The next stop – the most important series of the year – in the land of Down Under, the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy. During December and January, the India will tour Australia. Following which England will visit India for a 5 match T20I series and 3 ODI games. After which the ICC Champions Trophy will take place.
