No time for practice in Antigua? Tight schedule to hamper Rohit Sharma & Co chances in IND vs BAN match

In the last week, Team India has traveled 3735 kilometers. The fatigue from constant travel may affect players against Bangladesh.

India cricket team couldn’t even kick their feet up after claiming an emphatic victory over Afghanistan on June 20. The Men in Blue started their Super 8 with a bang, but a cramped schedule forced them to leave the Kensington Oval as soon as the match was over to prepare for the IND vs BAN match.

Undercooked for IND vs BAN match?

After toiling hard against Afghanistan, Team India has to travel 522 kilometers and get ready for the match by 8 PM on June 22. Due to the constant traveling, players, especially bowlers, won’t have any time to recover. But the Rohit Sharma-led side has to travel to get familiar with the conditions at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Less than 24 hours later, today (June 21), they’ll hold practice to prepare for the IND vs BAN match. Although all of India’s practices so far in the T20 World Cup are optional, many players are bound to skip them to ensure they don’t push their bodies too far.

No respite going forward either

Fatigue is bound to play a huge factor, taking into account that Team India traveled from New York to Florida for a washed-out game against Canada, and then they came to Barbados to play Afghanistan. They’ve already flown to Antigua and will travel another 357 kilometers, to St Lucia for their last Super 8 match against Australia.

If India reaches the semifinals, which they are in a prime position to reach. They’ll either travel to Guyana, which is 1030 kilometers away, or Trinidad, which is 359 kilometers away from St. Lucia. If they play in Semifinal 1, they’ll have to play on June 26 (Trinidad). That means they won’t even get a day’s rest to prepare for their biggest match of the T20 World Cup so far.
