Making a remarkable comeback in IPL 2024 after sitting out due to injury, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav showcased his prowess by clinching 3 wickets for 20 runs, steering Delhi Capitals to a convincing six-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow. His stellar performance in LSG vs DC earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match title.
Kuldeep’s spell proved instrumental in limiting LSG to a modest total of 167/7 in 20 overs. LSG’s skipper KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran, all fell prey to Kuldeep’s cunning deliveries.
“It was an important win because we have lost two games before this. We batted really well at Wankhede but we could not win since we lacked the finishing. Middle overs are very important, if you take wickets in those 8-9 overs it helps the team. All the wickets were important for the team and for my confidence as well.” said Kuldeep Yadav speaking to IPL.

“It was a good ball, proper googly, it pitched on a good length, and spun. It was my plan to bowl that delivery and set the field accordingly and luckily the ball pitched perfectly and I got the wicket. When you take a wicket off a good ball, you celebrate also so as it was a good ball, the celebration was called for,” Kuldeep added.
Important win for DC in IPL 2024
The win came as a sigh of relief for the Capitals, who were languishing at the bottom of the table. This triumph propelled them upward, instilling renewed confidence with two victories in six matches this season.
