‘Ghatiya fielding’ Fans troll PBKS after they spill 3 easy catches vs KKR

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsmen made merry against Punjab Kings bowling and poor fielding efforts as they clubbed as many as 261 runs in the first innings at the Eden Gardens

Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) fielding coach is bound to have a long team meeting post their IPL 2024 game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). After all, the Kings players are making some huge blunders in the outfield, as they dropped three simple catches on Friday.

The KKR batsmen were on full show at the iconic Eden Gardens as they pummeled the PBKS bowlers to all parts of the ground. The hosts racked up one of the highest ever IPL total, smashing 261 runs in their 20 overs. While openers Sunil Narine and Phil Salt were aggressive right from the get-go, they were helped by PBKS’ poor fielding effort.

Brar, Curran, & Rabada: The culprits

Harpreet Brar was the first one to drop a catch against KKR. Sunil Narine dabbed one towards backward point, where Brar was stationed. While the PBKS all-rounder dived to his right and got both hands, the ball popped out. It proved to be an expensive miss as Narine hammered 71 off only 32.

While Brar’s chance was still somewhat tough, Sam Curran shelled out an easy grab. When Phil Salt drilled one straight to mid-off, it came at a great height for the PBKS skipper, who dropped the massive chance.

The catch-dropping spree continued when experienced pacer Kagiso Rabada dished out an while fielding at point. It was the second reprieve for Salt, who poked one off Rahul Chahar’s delivery. Rabada, despite getting both hands on the ball, spilled the catch.
