India Team selection jinx continues in IPL 2024 as tension grows after squad announcement

India Cricket Team stars continue to falter as jinx continues after India Squad announcement for ICC T20 World Cup

Ever since the India squad for ICC T20 World Cup was announced, Indian stars have started to faltered in the ongoing IPL 2024. The jinx started with the dismissals of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. And unfortunately it continued to Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal.

In a strange turn of events, ever since the announcement of the India squad, the Indian stars have immediately started to falter. This certainly raises concerns given the ICC T20 World Cup is slated to commence in just a month.

T20 Squad Jinx Continues

The India Squad was announced ahead of the Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants clash. And as fate would have it, the selected stars continued to fumble in IPL 2024. Skipper Rohit Sharma’s sub par season continues. He was cheaply dismissed for just 4 runs.

World Number 1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav was no exception. SKY could manage to score just 10 runs 6 balls before being dismissed by Marcus Stoinis. Vice captain Hardik Pandya was the biggest flop. The ace all-rounder was scalped for a golden duck. The only saving grace was Jasprit Bumeah who gave away just 17 runs in his 4 over spell with an economy of 4.20. But then again, Bumrah went wicketless.

Chennai Super Kings stars were no exception. In-form finisher Shivam Dube was also dismissed for a golden duck. Veteran all-rounder Rvaindra Jadeja could only manage to score 2 runs from 4 balls. In terms of bowling, Jadeja gave 22 runs in his 3 over spell without scalping a solitary wicket. But interestingly, Dube who rolled his arms got a wicket in his 14-run over.

Come the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals clash, a similar pattern was observed. Sanju Samson departed for a duck. On the other hand, Yuzvendra Chahal making a comeback to the team, bowled his most expensive IPL spell. Chahal gave away 62 runs in his 4 overs without bagging a wicket.
