Can a moment in a match be more important that the result of the encounter itself? Perhaps, yes. When the incident involves former CSK skipper MS Dhoni, it can be. Even though Chennai beat Gujarat Giants comfortably by 63 runs, yet MS Dhoni’s diving catch to dismiss Vijay Shankar, is what will be remembered the most. After all, it was a catch for ages, that took ardent MSD fans into the past, where he would fly around behind the wickets to dismiss batsmen.

But having said that, there were other moments in the day too, that are worth mentioning. Be it Suryakumar Yadav’s injury update, or of Sri Lankan Wanindu Hasaranga. Oh ya, and CSK moved to the top of the points table, with two wins in two and a run rate of 1.979.

After all, those crisp sixes, five of them, looked effortless, as continued his good form from the IND vs AFG series, carried forward to the Ranji Trophy, to the IPL now.

Rachin, the New Ravindra, Who’s a Crowd Favorite

Playing only in his second game, Rachin Ravindra looked at ease, and once again scored a fiery 46 from 20. He started off well in the match against RCB, where he scored a quickfire 30-odd as well. He’s looks like, he belongs here, and the Chennai supporters also seem to have embraced the talented batsman.

Surya Unfit, Mumbai ‘India’ Frets

As per a report, Suryakumar Yadav is yet to receive a clearance from the NCA, and will miss the second match for Mumbai Indians as well, as they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday. He’s not only crucial for MI, but Team India as well, with the T20 World Cup scheduled to take place in June. It looks like, the caretakers are not ready to risk him as yet.

SRH Feels the Pinch

Wanindu Hasaranga has still not joined SRH camp till now. This confirms that he won’t be a part of MI match for sure, but what’s more, he has chronic pain in his left heel, and might miss a lot more games for the franchise. The SLC doctors have recommended Hasaranga to seek another medical opinion, for which he is expected to be out of the country next week.

No ‘No Ball’ Controversy

To avoid any disagreements on the waist-high no balls, the BCCI seems to have come up with a unique solution. Report suggests that the board is measuring the heights of all the players in the league, so that when a situation arises, the hawk eye can correctly predict the no ball.
