Jasprit Bumrah has been sensational form in IPL 2024. Now this is a major boost for the Indian Cricket Team. While the rest of the pacers haven’t been firing on all cylinders, Jasprit Bumrah has been a class apart. The Mumbai Indians pacer has gone on to lead the Purple caps charts after a stunning bowling spell in the PBKS vs MI clash.
Jasprit Bumrah now has the most wickets in IPL 2024 so far. He has gone on scalp 13 wickets in just 7 games. Interestingly, he also has the best economy among all the bowlers in the tournament. He is the only bowler to have a economy of 5.96 (less than 6).
No other pacer apart from Mayank Yadav has an economy of less than 6. But Jasprit Bumrah is like a blip in the Matrix. Despite Mumbai Indians‘ poor start in the tournament, Bumrah has been the standout performer for the 5-time IPL champions.
Big Boost for Men in Blue
India are in a precarious situation. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah no other pacer has been able to prove their mark in the tournament. Mayank Yadav is close, but he has played just 3 games and missed the others with an abdominal injury. With no Mohammed Shami, India is in some serious headache over the pacer’s selection for the ICC T20 World Cup.
Mohammed Siraj’s poor form in the shortest format of the game continues. RCB too recently went on to drop Siraj as a part of workload management. Arshdeep Singh too started the tournament slowly but has started to make big progress as the tournament continues.
